About the Club

You can find Wilmslow Chess Club every Monday evening in the restaurant area of the Kings Arms (the restaurant is closed for food on Mondays). Occasionally, we play in the pub itself if the restaurant is unavailable.

If you enjoy playing chess online, have recently moved to the area, or simply want to rekindle an old interest, come along to meet us and play a few games. The club has players with a wide range of ability, so everyone should find a range of worthy opponents.

Although we do not offer chess lessons, we have a number of junior members from local secondary schools. Younger players should be accompanied by a parent or guardian where appropriate.

We usually play informal games without clocks, in a relaxed environment where you can develop friendships as well as chess skills. For those with a competitive streak, we also field teams in a couple of local competitions.
